Life Stage:

Adult

Participants:

Men and women, aged 55–74 years old*

*While this protocol was used in a study of men and women aged 55–74 years old, the Cancer Working Group deems it appropriate to use with the general population aged 18 years or older.

Specific Instructions:

All respondents are asked questions 1–3. Only female respondents are asked questions 4–8, and only male respondents are asked questions 9 and 10.

While not currently performed as part of routine cancer screening, the Working Group recommends including questions about two additional cancer screening procedures: Helical computed tomography (CT) scan and whole body scan.

Selection Rationale

This protocol was selected because it includes the major cancer screening tests that are currently widely performed. This protocol has also been used in a major U.S. cancer screening study.
