Protocol - Pain Quality Descriptors (Nociceptive) - Adult
Description
The Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS®) Scale v2.0 - Nociceptive Pain Quality 5a is a self-administered questionnaire assessing 5 descriptors of nociceptive pain quality, with a recall period of the past 7 days. This protocol was validated in individuals aged 18 years and older.
Specific Instructions
Because of validation in a wide range of ages, the PhenX Working Group (WG) recommends the use of the Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS®) Pain Quality Descriptors protocols if the study contains a broad range of ages or if the study will be tracking the same participant(s) through age transitions from childhood to adulthood. If the study involves only adults and a broader array of pain descriptors are desirable, the PhenX WG recommends the use of the Short Form-McGill Pain Questionnaire-2 (SF-MPQ-2) protocol.
